Anybody listen To Grillin Jr?

Listened to one episode (survivor series 1995) and it seems really promising so far

what I’ve noticed
- Conrad is less silly and jokes less, podcast has more of a focused, professional feel
- they tend to focus on one topic (ie Bill Watts) for extended periods of time rather than the rapid fire match, wrestler, match, topic, match style in a typical STW ppv episode
- JR is salty as hell lol

again, that’s one episode so not sure if that’s more of a general thing or just this particular one.

who else listens to grilling JR?
Besides going in some crazy ole man rants, JR seems pretty genuine n truthful bout everything, even admits to mistakes unlike Eric n Bruce who defend most of their horseshyt

There's almost a 3 minute commercial every 15 minutes of the podcast now :gucci:

The only other Conrad podcast I listen to is Arn, and that one doesn't seem to have nearly as many advertisements as Something to Wrestle With.

I listen regularly. The ramblings and tangents aren't nearly as bad as Bischoff tends to

Yep. This should’ve been expected though, they’ve been on for close to 5 years now and since they’re not allowed to discuss the current product there’s a finite amount of material they can cover. Between that and Bruce’s schedule it wouldn’t surprise me if this was gone a year from now

No I remember the angle but I dont think the podcast and Bruce should be judged on the basis of that.

In respect of the angle itself, I think about it now and feel that they fuked it up themselves

That initial promo when Paul said that "people like you dont get to be champion" can be interpreted as being a WWE vs WCW thing rather than a racial one.

For example, if he said that to someone to a white guy like Scott Steiner then it would be obvious what he meant by that.

For me, the racial undertones of the angle were displayed with the whole get me a towel remark. Now thats on creative, not HHH. People need to understand the difference.

Now somewhere leading up to Wrestlemania, Vince must have lost confidence in Book. He must have had second thoughts on making him the guy.

It must be remembered that HHH was the one who was drawing in the company at the time and working with different wrestlers the same way Flair used to do back in his heyday.

Could you see Booker taking over this role? Can he have work with wrestlers with different styles? Would he have drawn?

These are the questions that Vince must have been asking himself and in the end he must have decided to take the safe action and keep the belt on reliable HHH

Ofcourse it doesnt look good with the build up but at the end of the day, business comes first for Vince.

fakkit ass post :dead:

This nikka said HHH was drawing. :dead: :dead:

about the hornswoggle episode.

Him being the anonymous Raw GM was completely knee capped by Vince once again thinking his wrestlers are professionally trained actors.

That and WWE studios completely messing up the Leprechaun movie

In an interview with WrestlingInc.com, Bruce Prichard’s Something to Wrestle With co-host Conrad Thompson talked about Prichard’s role in WWE.

Of course, Prichard took over as Raw Executive Director for Paul Heyman in addition to being in charge of SmackDown. Here is what Thompson had to say:

“It’s not a little bit of stress, it’s a lot of stress. We don’t have specific conversations cause I don’t want him to ever think that I’m being the guy trying to dig for scoops, but yeah, every now and again, certainly I’ll get a call from Bruce and you can just hear it in his voice.”

“He’s tired. He’s sleepy. He’s stressing. And I can only imagine the amount of curveballs that are coming his way, not just from running a show on FOX, which my goodness, what a huge undertaking that is. But now you’ve also got a show on USA, but as if that wasn’t enough, it’s also happening during a pandemic on a closed set.”

“It’s just remarkable when you think about all the particular challenges and how many times they must have to – and nobody’s told me this – but I just assume they’ve had to write and rewrite and write and rewrite because there’s so many moving parts. There’s so many variables with who can travel, who can’t, who has a fever, who doesn’t. These are things where maybe once upon a time it was just something you didn’t have to worry about.”

“Everybody’s here, everybody’s accounted for and everybody’s well. And if that’s not the case, I can only imagine that wreaks havoc on your plans. So, you have to adjust on the fly and again, I’m free-styling and all of that and nobody’s told me that, but I just can’t imagine.’”

“Cause in my day to day life, during the last three months, everything has not gone according to plan and I’m not writing five hours of TV every week. So, the idea that five hours of TV with hundreds of people comes off flawlessly and there’s no hiccups because of COVID? Yeah, that’s probably a little unrealistic.”
