Darce, thank you for posting this. I've got love for Ka just off his music videos. I've yet to check his albums.

This video completely fukked my head up.
So, so,so many rappers should be ashamed of themselves when a top tier rapper like Ka drops something like this.

I see this and then I'm embarrassed for much of hip hop and myself for fake-liking things at 60 percent.

When this is 100 percent perfect.

Ka I believe is born around 1972 just like the era Pac, Biggie, Em, Ghostface are from.

But he hustles like a man as a firefighter while still honing his craft. A true life example.

To me this is advanced - built up Hip Hop.

No one can front on this. You just have to respect it or go away. Amazing.

I don't know if @Waterproof commented on this but I'm wondering what you think of this specific video?

Yo, you're in for a treat. You may have already listened to something, but Grief Pedigree is still one of the most impactful albums I've ever heard. I can remember the whole situation and night where I heard that album for the first time, and it's still my favorite KA joint just off nostalgia. You'll love listening to his stuff for sure.

I have this exact same thing with both Samurai and Orpheus.

Samurai just for introducing me to Ka, just respected the craft so much.

Hermit & the Recluse came out at exactly the right time in my life, on the verge of burning out on a corporate job that I'd sacrificed so much time with my kids/wife for. I have no idea what I would've done without that album coming out when it did, but it would've been destructive. When I heard that album I immediately took time off, then a week later I quit that job and that shyt changed my life, literally.

Ka's been locked in my top 10 ever since, only artist I didn't grow up on that's in there.

Word. That's beyond impactful hip hop.

Krs One's self titled album changed the trajectory of my life with his philosophy in 1995. I was a young kid.

Also @TheDarceKnight that new vid he said something about responsibility and onus that's so real and needed in my life right now. I was thinking of that.

I waited to reply to this because I wanted to do it justice. This story actually really helps me out. I'm at a point where I quit a desk job in late 2018 to pursue a long term goal, and Covid has really slowed it down and thrown me off, and I'm having to dig deep to keep pushing. I had to move recently (and suddenly) to keep pursuing the goal, and it's been kind of a stressful couple months. Reading this from you is actually just what I needed to read.

I'm glad to see another person that left the desk job/corporate gig behind, and I'm glad we have music like this.

:wow:

:salute: proud of you brother
