Actually live in the DMV now

Don't get mad at me cuz BK is overrated like shyt

Who wants to live in a place where it costs $2k to get a basement apartment

FOH
i can respect your opinion that BKLYN is overrated. But to ask “who wants to pay 2k for a basement” don’t make sense.

Millions on millions of people want to pay for that

Lived in a city my whole life playa...I know cities are desirable to most young ppl but renting apartments that are worth maybe half the going-rate is not kosher.

And truthfully, the gentrification drove up the prices.

I respect what Brooklyn represents for NY but I just never understood the hype. I'm really trying to understand.

What makes social activities in BK better than LA, ATL, MIA, etc?

And that's one fukking Borough.

We don't even have half of that for a whole summer in DC these days(well not for non weirdo Black Folk):mjcry:

Facts. Most stuff similar to those type of events in DC are mainly separate events relegated to clubs, lounges, brunch spots, and entertainment venues. Nothing wrong with it but I do wish most of them would spill out into the streets. Something like Moechella is a really good start tho...Moechella be throwing outdoor concerts and festivals around U Street and block parties elsewhere in the city like they did in the Soufside a couple of weekends ago.

Bruuuuh, it would be lit asf if DC could get something like CurlFest, Harlem’s African American Parade (think that’s what it’s called), or a BAM-style First Saturdays at NMAAHC, Air & Space Museum, National Museum of Natural History, National Gallery of Art, and the African Art Museum just to make the National Mall more lit than just being mainly tourist shyt :wow:

All I had this summer was Kennedy street day, smh

Used to do Adams Day, but that was ruined a while ago.

I just want street and outdoor stuff back. No more summer shows at the Carter Baron, no nothing.

Oh yes before I forget DC House fest at Marcus Garvey Park on 16th is on Monday September 4th from 12-10pm

And Also The Dance and House fest at Independence Plaza In Downtown Silver Spring on Sunday the 22nd, 3-10pm.

Both free

I’m not doing this. You think those cities are equally fun as BKLN, great enjoy them. I’m in all of those cities often.

I live in BKLN, and I love BKLN life and there is never a day that I don’t have MULTIPLE OPTIONS on what to do.

Damn what happened to Adams Morgan Day? I’ve been wanting to check it out for a min since AdMo’s one of my most fav neighborhoods in the city.

Yeah DC def needs more street/outdoor events going on. With the amount of ppl that be out and about in the city during the summer, you’d think there’d be more shyt like that :francis: DC’s one of the GOAT cities in the country but it’s still a few things it falls short at and this be one of them smh. Even more car-oriented ATL got more street/outdoor festivities going on every single day than DC.

Maaaan, Imma be back at UMES during those House events :mjcry: But it’s my last semester before I graduate so next September, I’ll be able to hit them joints up :takedat:

You hitting up H Street Fest this year breh? I might hit it up since I plan on working one shift at my job during that day and might see if I can swing by afterwards to check it out. Haven’t been to it in 4 years.
