Especially as a minorityIrresponsible and reckless to be out with toy gunsin this climate.
That too. But him saying he never saw a gun kills any hope of a self defense claim off the rip.
“I did not see a firearm. I did not hear a firearm. And obviously I wasn’t shot because I would be bleeding. I did not see a firearm at all,” Middleton said, according to a complaint.
He told the cops in his interview that he never even saw a gun. He felt something hit his back, saw the kid make some kind of gesture, and pulled out his gun and fired.
Well now that coxucker at work on the other side of the door with all the wolves. What type of evil and sick devil you have to be to shoot and murder a young child and then clock in to work like nothing happened? There are too many guns in the country and a lot of cowards, it is shoot first ask questions after. I am against the capital punishment/penalty but this goon shouldn't be able to spend another day outside the prison cell
so the guy just shot at a random car and happened to hit the guy that was shooting people in the area with pellets? Wild. What a crazy coincidence. Good luck on getting 12 jurors to agree with that one
Bruuuuuhhhh
I'm amazed this guy does not know better. He should not be talking to the police or making any statements without a lawyer present!!!
Coli folks please DO NOT TALK TO POLICE!
Say " I choose not to talk. I need my lawyer mayne".
You don’t know what was going through the COs head he could’ve ran after he drawn the shot. Sounds like everything happened quick hence his reaction time, the only mistake he made was not reporting it, that could’ve been due to fear.Imagine shooting someone in the face and not even reporting it. Especially as a cop. Only a sociopath would just show up to work the next day like nothing happened.
And yet you think that he shouldn't be charged with anything at all.
You wouldn't admit you were wrong in the first one we argued over even when I quoted multiple gun nut websites going off about what a bad shoot it was. Or the pro-gun podcast with the lawyers going off about what a terrible shoot it looked like and how he should catch charges, before one of them finally decided two hours in that the guy should be let off on a manufactured "he could say it was a burglary" claim even though the clearly unarmed man he killed never entered his home and never intended to burglarize anything.
If you can't back down from that one, why should I argue any of the others? You've already made your position on shootings in general quite clear.
He had an alert on the Superhero Citizens appso the guy just shot at a random car and happened to hit the guy that was shooting people in the area with pellets? Wild. What a crazy coincidence. Good luck on getting 12 jurors to agree with that one
Ok, @King Jove you need to update the thread title. Waaay too many people are just reading your incorrect title and going from there. We have so much more information now and the thread title and the actual situation are night and day. LITERALLY!
This wasn't some 14 year old getting shot in a water balloon fight. This was a group of ADULT morons riding around at 1AM in the dark shooting pellet rifles at people.
Change the title and report the story accurately now!
He was shot in the back/neck and felt something wet, he made the right move under the circumstances, IMO
I agree he shouldn't have left the scene
legal age
The legal age is also known as the age of legal majority. This is the age at which a person gains the legal status of an adult. The legal age is set by state law and can differ from state to state. However, almost all states set the base legal age as 18 years old. This is the age at which a person gains control over their own actions and affairs and becomes responsible for the decisions they make. Those past the age of legal majority are usually tried as adults when charged with crimes. Once this age is reached, any existing parental, guardian, and child support obligations are considered terminated. However, minors may obtain the status of legal adulthood before reaching the legal age of majority if they are granted a court order for emancipation, or if they meet statutorily defined exceptions such as getting married as a minor or obtaining certain educational degrees.
The age of majority is the threshold of adulthood as recognized or declared in law. It is the moment when minors cease to be considered such and assume legal control over their persons, actions, and decisions, thus terminating the control and legal responsibilities of their parents or guardian over them. Most countries set the age of majority at 18, but some jurisdictions have a higher age and others lower. The word majorityhere refers to having greater years and being of full age as opposed to minority, the state of being a minor. The law in a given jurisdiction may not actually use the term "age of majority". The term typically refers to a collection of laws bestowing the status of adulthood. Those under the age of majority are referred to as minors and may be legally denied certain privileges or rights (e.g. the right to vote, buy alcohol, marry, sign a binding contract)
Dion Middleton, 45, fired a single shot toward a car that allegedly killed 18-year-old Raymond Chaluisant after he felt a “stinging in his back” and saw a passenger in a car making a hand gesture, said Joey Jackson, who is the attorney for the correction officers’ union.
When did we start describing 18 year olds as “teens”?
