It's not uppity and I can see why some people would want that, its just not realistic in a big tent party IMO. Plans that benefit black people need to have some type of broader benefit to many citizens to gain support from different constituent groups.
Yep. Unfortunately, due to the electoral college and the locations of the demographics that vote Democrat, Democrats have to appeal to the center to win national elections. Republicans can just appeal to their base because whites are the majority. That's just a fact. "Black only" legislation would be a loser of an issue without a supermajority in both houses of congress.

Anyway...

If the point is getting a return, then voting for Trump would be your worst move, not voting would be almost as bad, and voting for Democrats and especially black representation in the Democratic Party would be your best bet.

What you want is for these bills in the House to have Clyburns down to Ayanna Pressley muscling black people on to bills before they hit the Senate, and then when they hit the Senate hoping that it and the executive branch are Democratic controlled so it doesn't get shot down immediately.

Politics is a game with a ton of moving pieces and like I said earlier, there's nothing on the Biden platform that suggests to me that baclk people would not benefit from Biden in office vs the alternative. That's a return.

But getting reparations, or some type of monetary gain apart from everyone else? Not happening anytime soon. I wouldn't stake my clout on that if I were in Congress right now either.

You just laid out why many people don't vote, black folks in particular. If they see no material change in their life because "politics is a game with a ton of moving pieces" then they are not going to bother. "Things will get worse" is not a sufficient motivator plus explaining how Congress might prevent a democratic president from doing something doesn't help either. This is part of the sentiment Cube is expressing that many resonate with.

Trickle down effect ain't gon cut it this time around, FBA need their just due. Reparations are a must for them.

Reparations are never gonna happen. And what the fukk are you talking about trickle down. You'd have a better chance of arguing for UBI than reparations. White America is not about to see young black males get thousands of dollar to flaunt in the videos and the gram.

That's a reason why many people don't vote, regardless of race. My mom votes but also hates the game.

Cube might express that sentiment but I expect a person of his stature to better formulate and understand why things don't just happen in government.

Regardless, black people would see a benefit to improving their turn out in political elections vs not showing up, without a doubt.

Neither will pass because of Republicans and both would help the country. But yet it's still the Democrats fault. :russ:
They need to be worried about the people than the post office:yeshrug:

How about you ask Republicans to hold emergency sessions? They hold the senate. Oh that's right, they don't give a fukk.
I’m not a Republican:manny:

From the article you posted......Biden said reparations for Black Americans would have to include Native Americans
tenor.gif

After acknowledging that his plans for educational and housing reform were not "mutually exclusive" to the concept of paying slavery reparations, Biden said "I can't believe that, whatever it is, the African American community would not support what I'm talking about in addition to fair reparations."
Biden demurred on specifically stating he was in support of reparations, saying the answer "would depend on what it was and will it include Native Americans as well."

Joe Biden wants to see studies about feasibility of slavery reparations
