There's no rebuttal when those films get brought up when these threads pop up or resurface.
Unless "oh, that was different" can be considered a rebuttal.
Any actor would welcome landing the role of an iconic figure, whether they come from the same heritage/ethnicity or not. Those films show that the actors surely didn't turn down the roles.

So of course people will duck/dodge acknowledging when actors from here played continental African or Caribbean public figures.
Makes their criticisms ring hollow, and they know it.
