The austerity bruvs lost the plot years ago.

It's not "free money" that hurt the UK the most. It's Brexit. UK conservatives are displaying massive cognitive dissonance and that's why they'll get steamrolled in the next elections.

Dunno, every time I think they're gonna get creamed they win somehow. This should be clear cut. Shouldn't be hard to admit this was a massive mistake and fix it, given the financial incentives not only for the country but Tory donors/financiers.

I remember when Obama basically told them it's a wrap for yall. In large part because a lot of US firms did the same that very week. Shout outs to the finance bros who flew over there to basically put their dikk on the table and say you guys are fukked, we'll be moving our operations to Paris/Munich/etc.

Nah, given the PM turnover, Boris blatantly lying to everyone, persistently high inflation, and stagnant economy, I think Labour should be fine. They did well in recent lower level elections. I get the reservation though. Their electorate is far more biased towards conservatism(their version, not kooky MAGA shyt) than ours.

That was probably one of the worst examples of racism I have seen. I maintain that Brexit might have failed if not for those comments by Obama. Note that this is in no way blaming him for saying what he said, but it just truly showed me where white people stand.

When Obama said that, all the Murdoch owned papers and the Telegraph quoted in this thread all went,

"Who does this uppity negros think he is? Now I really want leopards to eat my face!" "RULE BRITTANIA"

The rest is history.

It won't be changed because no one has the will to raise another referendum, even though the consensus is overwhelming backing us being in the EU now. Also it seems like Brits would rather suffer and complain that go back to the EU and say they made a mistake.

I wouldn’t call them poor, just overpriced for your value. A lot of places are getting like that though, it’s just in the UK, considering the value of the pound, it’s like you’re getting shafted.
