This shyt happened to me with a school project. 
We had had several days to build the strongest bridge possible to bridge like 6 feet. You were free in choice of materials and techniques and sh*t. I used paper and cardboard because I couldn't be bothered.
My dear bridge couldn't even stay up long enough to be showcased, let alone tested with weights.
I'm sorry bridge, I should've treated you better. I let down the imaginary people that were relying on my bridge to make it to the other side.

I agree with both of you.
I think that changing the image, changing the narrative is partly done by changing the reality.
Where I think he's coming from is that the world has VERY limited stories about Black people. From EVERYWHERE. DRC happens to be a French speaking country, so news coverage of them is even more limited to English speakers. This might be the only news story from that country that many will read/see this year. And it's about dysfunctional public works project.
Nobody here would like the only international story about their country / nationality to be a negative one.
Facts over feelings, breh. No positive story about Congo or negative story about Switzerland/UK changes the fact that a bridge built in Congo couldn't make it past the ribbon cutting ceremony.
