Yeah, I remember hearing about how Lil Romeo was recruited into USC basektball...supposedly they gave him a scholarship in order to attract another recruit who was connected to him...not all them dudes on a roster a stand out/phenoms...i'm also not convinced that snoop's or Diddy's kids got into UCLA football strictly through ability...either way, some players in the nfl/nba get in through knowing a system or through recommendations from a coach who's familiar with their training and pedigree.

nba vet? I thought we were talking about the lowest man on the roster? Like another poster said, there's a few guys who made it through the cracks who aren't that much better than your average d1 or d2 player who never made it

the illiteracy of this post is beyond words right now lol....dudes look up to these guys so much that they defend them at any chance that they get...you sound worse than his momma in the stands...what? Is he paying you to suck his dik and carry his purse too? lol

for the mental midget who doesn't seem to get it---most people could do their job better than most who don't do it for a living. I don't see how comparing an NBA player to a joe schmo nobody would be any different
:gucci: What is your job that has you putting yourself in the same breath as Einstein? You an astrophysicist or something?

I firmly believe there's nba players that you can beat.

Scal is a skilled big man who's a good shooter. Other than his appearance, I'm not sure why he became the face of this movement.

But gimme Kendrick Perkins and I feel like there's regular ppl who can beat him straight up. :yeshrug:

You're out of your fukking mind. This whole talking head media culture has you delusional fools believing you can match up with professional athletes.

This is also a sign, to me, that you are not very good at anything at all.

It's brothas in the thread suggesting a regular dude can match up with a guy (Perkins) who has played high-level basketball since middle-school...insane.

What Scal is saying is common sense.

A more debatable hot take is that a D2 or D3 star would cook a walk-on on a top 10 D1 team

That would definitely happen most of the time. Most actual D2 stars are as good as decent D1 players, they're gonna be far better than walk-ons unless the walk-on was some diamond in the rough shyt. And there are walk-ons who aren't really that good even if they're on a good team.

Back in the day I used to be on the same team as a major school walk-on and he was skilled (6'3" guard with hops and range) but it wasn't like he stood out above everyone else on the court, he didn't have elite game outside of hitting jumpers and he could go cold. If you didn't know he was a D1 walk-on then you would have assumed he was just another good player.

People don’t realize how big an advantage playing and practicing against other NBA athletes is. We see it even amongst the most talented rookies in the league.

Your understanding of pace and speed changes drastically even with a year of experiencing it consistently,
Most of these folks haven’t fukked around on the court with even a decent D1 player, let alone a NBA scrub. They’re out of their element

Nah

MLB is

elaborate please? MLB teams are over double the size of an NBA roster plus the farm system is much better than the NBA with lots of guys getting called up for a few games then sent back down, so in that essence they “made it” to the MLB even if they didn’t stay on roster for long.

Isn’t the mlb draft like 40 rounds as compared to just ~60 picks for the nba?

I’m not that familiar with mlb and baseball as much as I am the nba and basketball so maybe I’m leaving something out.
