And there is something to be said about playing at a high level in front of a large crowd. The pressure feels different. I remember in HS playing in a pretty packed college gym for the first time and I swear to God all I could hear was my heart beating and I forgot how to play basketball :russ:

I have played against a few Nigerians that played in NBA camps, or played a couple of seasons in the NBA and they were always two or three levels above me. Btw, I am not bad that all, played 3 years pro in Europe, and I can hold my own. These NBA guys are on another level, they made me look inadequate most times.

My co-worker played pro in Europe, says the same shyt about NBA dudes.

did you even watch the video?

scal literally explained exactly why this is impossible. NBA players can read movements and process at a rate that regular people cannot. by the 2rd posession all your moves would be figured out and timed down.

a regular person would struggle to get a shot off on him
Great point. You see this to a lesser degree when the OG's school the youngins

Everything that needed to be said has been said. I’ve played against D1 players and it’s not their athleticism, it’s their skill set. Seeing plays before they happen, getting to any spot in the floor, damn near learning all ur moves in a matter of minutes.

If you think you can beat an NBA player you probably aren’t actually that good at the sport. If you were, then you’d have the experience of playing players who are actually good who couldn’t stick in the league so you’d have a better perception of how good NBA players are compared to other pros and how good non-NBA pros are compared to everyone else.

Scalabrine is right about the tells. Non-pro players have tells that you can read that can tell you what they’re going to do. NBA players don’t have many tells at all or they’re very subtle. You haven’t seen a good jab step or ball fake until you seen a pro do it as you guard them. Trust me. I’m a lockdown defender versus most regular people regardless of athleticism or physical profile because most regular people don’t have a real bag they can go to and once you’ve seen a few possessions you figure em out. You know what they’re going to do before they do it. With pros…if you can’t read the tells then you’re trying to guard based on reacting to speed and athleticism and that’s hard to do because players on that level don’t need a lot of space and they capitalize on 90% of shot opportunities.
Yup. Little stuff like when you drive left or right are you more likely to pull up. If so whch hand do you dribble last off before pulling up. Etc etc. I never cared about learning about playing proper defense top after 30s

Even things like…lots of people make an O with their mouths, widen their eyes or look straight at you before making a no-look pass. Lots of players do the same thing right before they gather their dribble etc. Lots of guys dribble right to left over an over really fast to try to mesmerize you but if you wait they release from that motion before they’re going to make their actual move…little things like that.

neither is Scalabrine. The fukk are you trying to say?

nikka the point of this thread is that you can’t beat an active NBA player. I posted a vid of Valentine getting cooked by a guy who ain’t in the league. It ain’t that hard to comprehend.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I’ll agree 2 disagree, lotta talent out there and all talent isn’t seen

u can’t convince me there’s not hoopers who can’t beat Udonis Haslem 1v1
You are right in the sense, there is NOTHING that is 100%

There is some kid who is about to be drafted this year, who could beat some washed NBA player, to 11, if they played 10 times.

The point is, that's not really going to happen more than 1% of the time. And the people who would be saying things like "you suck" to an nba player, are usually some bum ass nikkas, not no top 5 prospect
