They will come back with health code violations, lawsuits for excessive smoke (Terry Black’s Barbecue Sued Because of Smoke) or mysterious fire....

The rabbit hole runs deep

I hope breh got the mobile phone security camera cause them cacs coming back with the fire bombs. I went by there when i was in austin back in april. Its sad to see all the gentrification and closed down shops. The street on the other side 6th had a whole block of homeless people outside the mission smh

I agree.

While I wholeheartedly reject the idea of gentrification. I would like to see our ppl/businesses come up financially off this and migrate to other areas of Austin, pflugerville and round rock.

I like East austin, especially Marshall’s and the other shop across the street. But Austin’s History of being the most segregated Texas city at one point and us staying there never say well with me.
This is what some black folks did in my area. They flipped it and got in on the gentrification game and open a series of pizza shops in black areas including those they are trying to gentrify.

If you guys ever in Nashville make sure to visit Slim & Husky's Pizza Beeria. Fully black owned and also some of the best pizza you will ever have. I'm not overhyping it because it's black owned but objectively speaking, it's some of the best pizza I've ever had. Check their Yelp reviews

Also all their pizzas have hip-hop/R&B inspired names. :banderas:

They're lowballing the fukk out of him :mjpls:. If they want it bad enough they'll come up a lot

I wonder if he is the last business they need or if he is such a community staple that seeing him leave would discourage other business owners from staying put :jbhmm:.

People who have been forced out of gentrified areas, where did y'all end up? At this rate will there really be anywhere left to live?

I'll be there next month. My wife and I were just talking about spots to get food. Will definitely check them out. Good looking out :myman:

heard about this. I thought at first that they were trying to buy his company, not his building.

if it was me, I'd take the $3 mill and move somewhere else into a better building and start making power moves with the business

I'd tell them 10 and not a penny less. Then, he can buy some blocks somewhere, and leave them to his hopefully not stupid c00n children.
