I keep thinking of Obama and his messaging. He gets excoriated on this board, but he pushed for marginal gains,made sure his political apparatus was strong and reaching people and it worked.

Let me be clear, that is not to say that leftist ideas are wrong, indeed, I think it's what the world needs, but the world doesn't seem to be ready for it. Sometimes as a liberal you see your idea as medicine - take it whether you like it or not cause it will make you better. We have failed to take into account the middle aged and old cacs who would rather die than take their medicine and who have a massive voice in the political process.

We either find a way to reach them or say "fukk them" and wait for the wave of youth that never quite seems to come through for us.
