LONDON — Politico reported the other day that the French European affairs minister, Nathalie Loiseau, had named her cat “Brexit.” Loiseau told the Journal du Dimanche that she chose the name because “he wakes me up every morning meowing to death because he wants to go out, and then when I open the door he stays in the middle, undecided, and then gives me evil looks when I put him out.

Either shorty is the dumbest most hard headed politician of all time by constantly trying to rework a deal that both sides are unwilling to budge on or she's shrewd enough to know the EU is too self interested to allow the UK. The EU is not going to let her cherry pick the benefits of being a member without following everything else. The Tories are not taking any deal that leaves them too involved with Brussels. The DUP is not going to support anything that leaves them in no man’s land while the rest of the UK gets to leave. The Labour party doesn’t want to leave the EU nor do they want to be seen helping the Tories break away safely only for them to completely throw out any deal they help them work out once a new person comes in office. Big businesses in the UK have their bags packed to move to Dublin, Paris, Luxembourg and Frankfurt if shyt hits the fan. shyt is a nightmare. She’s basically praying that Brussels and the other member countries will flinch at the reality of the second or third largest regional economy completely crashing. That’s her only play at this point. It worked today but I don’t see anything changing by October. I wonder if the EU will just call her bluff eventually and let the UK crash out.
