Haven't watched yet but might be of interest to some HitGOAT disciples

Bret Hart's Calgary

He's a Calgary legend.

Earlier this week, pro-wrestling hall of famer Bret 'The Hitman' Hart announced he's been diagnosed prostate cancer. The 58-year-old pledged to wage a "fearsome fight" against the disease, "carrying my determination and my fury for life, emboldened by all the love that's kept me going this long already."

Bret, of course, is a member of the famous Hart wrestling dynasty. His family is one of the best known in our city. Their history is a part of our history. A couple weeks back, before his cancer announcement, we asked Bret to show us around his Calgary, as part of our Calgary at a Crossroadsproject.

Bret and the CBC's Mike Symington hit the road. And boy did Bret ever have some stories to tell.

It's Calgary, like you just might remember it.

Damn, now he got to start chemo don't he?

My friend's mom had breast cancer... got surgery and did chemo for a long ass time. She won at the end of the day, but she was looking rough during that time... I felt bad for her.

Bret is the last wrestler I would think is racist. He shytted on southern wrestlers because they were racist, and like you said, there haven't been any stories about Bret being a racist. I mentioned this before, but it seems that Canadian wrestlers don't get down like that for the most part (Jericho, Storm, Bret, etc)

From The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

"Bret Hart underwent prostate cancer surgery on 2/10 in Calgary and by all accounts, the procedure was a success. He had his prostate completely removed and doctors were confident that the cancer was contained and so he won't need any chemotherapy or radiation and should make a full recovery."

"Hart had apparently known about having prostate cancer dating back to last summer, but had only told close family and even friends only found out days before he made the announcement on Facebook. Doctors felt that because it was a slow growing cancer, he didn't need immediate surgery and they pushed it back due to his recovery from a wrist operation that took longer than expected to rehab."

Looks like Bret made cancer tap out :mjcry:

Nah, I still would've said "fukk that, let's do the damn thing RIGHT NOW". Don't give cancer any breathing room.
