Two strand twist made my process easy as shyt

and being a broke college student it ain’t like I had the money to get retwisted a bunch of times

I sweated quite a bit being in the marching band, but that look of your roots looking nappy in between your locks is my favorite phase of the locks, don’t like the look that your hair is braided when you freshly twisted

Keep a silk wave-cap on outdoors and use a shower cap. IDK why y'all take so long to loc when mine took about 2-3 months at most starting from a 4" afro and washing them 2x/mo. In the beginning, get them retwisted as often as needed.

I get mine retwisted once a month. And get them interlocked once every 4 or 5 months. Drink plenty of water, as well as wash them every 7 to 10 days. Also use a blow dryer or use a lint free towel to dry your hair. And also, if you don't have a silk pillow/ pillowcase, always cover your locs up before going to sleep every night. I been having my locs for damn near two years and I'm still learning about how to properly take care of them.

Oh yeah, don't use them regular ass shampoos you get at the store. Use something like Design Essential (they smell good and plus they are black owned)

Im 10 years as of last month.

Two stand twists are not a good way to start locs. Palm rolled or interlocked and the two primary way locs are made an maintained. My were started with interlocking so they locd immediately and were easily maintained.
Imo you should stick with either palm rolled or interlocked dont switch back and forth, it usually makes for an uneven loc and puts more stress on The follicle when you do.

Interlocking is good for that instant loc, but because of the way they are creating they are going to shorter than palm rolled. This method also works on any grade of hair. Maintenance can also be more expensive.

Palm Rolling is easier and takes less time and money but puts much more stress on the hair follicle and your hair takes time (3-6 months) to start locking up.
