Bout to start my loc journey, got a few questions and concerns though

When I have two strand twists, I find them hard to keep up with because I sweat em out while working out etc. Should I be worried with my starter locs that they’ll unravel if I’m working out and sweat em out?

My mans told me essentially what I’ll have to do is get 2 strand twists and keep retwisting em until the loc, sounds hard as shyt tho cuz when I have 2 strands they only last for a couple of days

I’ll take any advice this is completely new to me

Has anyone gone the instant lock route? I’ve seen ppl go that route to skip the whole starter locs phase

And it might be off but with braids, I wore a shower cap and slept with a durag until I took them out and washed them. Do you do the same with locs or is it different

find a loctition round you and ask them. Mine stayed pretty easily, though if you're regularly working out they'll probably never look freshly twisted for more than a few days at first

Your hair must be long, or you must have softer hair if you’re starting your loc’s with 2 strand twists. They’re going to unravel regardless until they loc I wouldn’t trip on working out with them. As long as they’re still in a twist/dreadlock shape you good. I’m about to hit 6 months with my locs & they still unravel, especially when I get my hair wet or wash my hair.

Interlocking sound like the way forward for you my bro

no wax no unraveling you can work out and wash them and they’ll be good

I started with 2 strand twists and had the growth interlocked after a couple of months. If you have a woman try getting her to learn cuz it can get expensive going to the loctician.

...had mine interlocked at least once every other month for almost a year because it wouldn't stay locked up after the gym or i washed it.

Yeap.

Mine are down to the middle of my back and I have VERY natty thick African hair so my shyt locs overnight.

I had two strands and if yours are coming loose then go to a loctician and get them to elastic band the ends. Don’t interlock at this stage.

I did lol

It worked best for me...but I went through the process for 4 months before doing so so some were matted already.
