jim harbaugh like portcity said. alex smith was well on his way out until he got there.

Come to think it, the amount of quality head coaches is pretty low.

true and comparable to the qb position in that there's about 3 elite level guys and then a bunch of dudes ranking from promising/decent to below average. you wouldnt think it would be like this the way these positions are paid and scrutinized.

Right now I say Harbaugh easily. He took basically the same team from 2 years ago to the top of the NFC instantly. Him throwing Alex Smith in the bushes shows me hes all about winning not giving a fukk about the media perception. Can't say that about many coaches...Beli's the same way but some of his in game decisions been questionable the last few years.

Coughlin, Beli, Harbaugh

Giants won the last Superbowl. We played well at the start and got comfy in the middle. We tend to pick it up to make a run in the offs.

NE met us in two Superbowls and competed hard. They've kept consistent more than us through seasons.

SF has turned into a defense force. They met us in the NFC Championship and played well till the punt fumble vs the Giants. Playing well during the season so far but Jim needs to choose his everyday QB.

i'm starting to wonder if tomlin has lost that team. smith has too many recent moments of being a shythead to be with the elite. he's better than most tho.
