Normally I would agree with both of these points, but given who Thanos is, people need to die. This is a dude that killed off half the universe at one point, including virtually every major Marvel super hero, solo or team.
A lot of people don't really know how Joss Whedon gets down, because they're "Buffy and Angel?" but dude was basically G.R.R. Martin before "Game Of Thrones" was well known. He would kill off characters left and right....major characters, fan favorites, all that. So unless Marvel specifically tells him I expect there to be deaths.

I think they're gonna use the Ultron angle to introduce Ant-Man... Have Ant-Man do his own movie and Avengers 2/ Guardians 2 set up everything with Thanos in Avengers 3. While Cap dies off in Avengers 3 only to be replaced by the Winter Soldier or Falcon after the Cap 3 movie of him looking for Winter Soldier and him turning face


Meanwhile quicksilver/scarlet witch introduce the Inhumans ( or hopefully) Xmen into everything (I wish Fox/Marvel could get on the same page)

To be honest, they will need the X-men to deal with Thanos...Fox and Marvel better team up and make the Thanos story natural or its gonna look ridiculous...You introduce big time beasts like Apocalypse or Thanos, you better be ready to bring the fukking pain and be as true to the comics as possible in terms of the villain's power and ruthlessness
