What is Windows XP end of support?
Microsoft has provided support for Windows XP for the past 12 years. But now the time has come for us, along with our hardware and software partners, to invest our resources toward supporting more recent technologies so that we can continue to deliver great new experiences.
As a result, after April 8, 2014, technical assistance for Windows XP will no longer be available, including automatic updates that help protect your PC. Microsoft will also stop providing Microsoft Security Essentials for download on Windows XP on this date. (If you already have Microsoft Security Essentials installed, you will continue to receive anti-malware signature updates for a limited time, but this does not mean that your PC will be secure because Microsoft will no longer be providing security updates to protect your PC.)
If you continue to use Windows XP after support ends, your computer will still work but it might become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Also, as more software and hardware manufacturers continue to optimize for more recent versions of Windows, you can expect to encounter greater numbers of apps and devices that do not work with Windows XP.

You better jump-off the ship , playboy , and come join us on Window 7 or 8.1:smugbiden:

I can't take windows 8 anymore, this shyt is a joke, can't believe Microsoft thought it was a good idea..anybody else done this switch?

Why not just install a Windows 7 interface program and keep the Windows 8 operating system intact?

it's too late brehs, i downgraded a few weeks ago and haven't looked back..windows 7 has been running amazing..i gave windows 8 a year and couldn't do it anymore..to be fair idk if the problems my comp had were all caused by windows 8, but i didn't even like it when it ran smoothly

I honestly don't see what the fuss is with Windows 8's start screen. I initially was a bit reluctant to use it and hated it but soon after I grew to like it. I'm on 8.1 and I'm just used to it. Like @winb83 said, you hit start and type and the results are near instantaneously. Plus if you game on your PC, you get performance upgrades with 8.1.

The Windows 8 store is there but I honestly don't bother using it and it doesn't bother me one bit being there. :yeshrug:

I also just tweaked my setup to boot straight to desktop without putting in a password since it's annoying having to do that and my PC is in my room and no one else uses it so no point in putting a password for it.
