I do too. But mainly because my mobo doesnt have a optical out. The card does have some nice features and great sound though.

Add a grand for a GTX 690 or bit more for 2 GTX 680s. If only for gaming drop down processor to an i5-3750k. Add a Corsair or Seasonic 850W PSU and figure out what case you'd like, add about $400 for a Korean 2560x1440 jump off and you got the best set up that budget can buy and should be good for years to come.
This nikka got 3 grand to spend and you mufukkas giving him a baby budget build. Next nikkas going to be recommending 6850s and a bulldozer CPU.

That's the thing man I'd neeeeeever spend a thousand dollars on a video card because it's gonna be on sale for half that next month when the new(er) shyt comes out.

People like to think that but its really not true. For instance a GTX 590 is still expensive as fukk. Part of it is the newer cards perform better because there more efficient but the older cards are still expensive to manufacture. Especially the higher end cards since they need to made from high end materials. If you could find someone selling a GTX 290 it would still be pretty expensive.

The 680 and 690 will be top of the line until 2014 or 2015, I have 580s, and I'll rock with them until Maxwell hits more than likely.

Maybe not the shyt you rocking. Try rocking a DX11 game like Metro 2033 at 1440p maxed out wit that weak shyt you got.
High end cards also retain their value a whole lot better than that weak budget shyt.
High end cards don't come out every other month. It is going to take a couple years before you see a 690 @ half price. Also, in this game you don't play the waiting game. There will always be something coming up better than what you can get today.

c'mon breh. That shyt will be going for $670 after mail-in-rebate by September.
Point is, you don't buy the super-top-end of electronics, because you're gonna end up paying twice as much for 15% more performance. If you absolutely have to have bleeding edge shyt then I guess go for it, but it's just kinda a waste imo.

Damn son, yeah there are monitors that display in 1440p, I used to have a Ultrasharp it looked incredible.
And try to run Metro 2033 on your PC on max settings, you might get 15fps breh, it's an incredible looking game.
