This been known, MMA is a sport where wrestling excels over all else. Being a complete grappler is more then Jiu Jitsu, grappling is about dominating top position and being on the attack. Jiu Jitsu is still important however, every champion in UFC or MMA knows grappling well

In sports perhaps.

Plenty of video evidence shows that in real life, people aren't going to wait for you to submit their friends one by one. wrestlers get stomped out in real fights.

Boxes and kickboxers are the most practical when dealing with potentially multiple opponents in real life, You need to drop one quick so you can retreat or defend yourself against the others.

Plus they are more entertaining to watch as a sport.

buh buh real life, this is about sport breh. knowing how to grapple even as a striker will only help you in a street fight anyway. I bet money I can show more examples of wrestlers slamming mfs and ending the fight in fights vs strikers or a mf who doesnt know shyt but favors striking(aka 95% of people)

Grappling rules in freestyle fighting, even a good striker in MMA has to have very good grappling to be good.

Talking about "becoming more effective strikers", then you're not talking about wrestling anymore, you're talking about the actual fighter.

I hate when people to to misconstrue facts like that.

If anything it's a very loose correlation, because wrestling got nothing to do with throwing a good punch, kicking, etc. That's more about the fighter themselves training in those areas.
Wrestling is about controlling and closing distance.
Very much like a boxer.

The strikes become secondary at that point. There's a reason footwork is considered fundamental.

Exactly. In a real fight, the entire world is my ring. A trained striker can stick and move for days but wouldn't have to. shyt a Muay Thai kick to the nuts from a 110 lbs. man will floor a 230 lbs. wrestler like nothing.

Im cryn

nikka any 220 lbs wreslter is eating a lil 110 muay thai dude for lunch.

Staying on your feet in a street fight is the most important thing honestly, by far.

Even in a tight situation like a crowded bar you want to be able to stay on your feet as you're getting knocked off balance.

I'd say boxing to keep people at bay and having a decent takedown defense, whether than be judo, wrestling, bjj, etc. will keep you alive more than anything.

The second you try to be aggressive or offensive with the grappling in the real world, you're asking for a whole lot of bullshyt to come your way.

Someone with boxing skills who knows how to stay light on their feet defensively are probably the best survivors. You want to keep your enemy or enemies especially in front of you at all times. Boxing will teach that far better than wrestling will. The best thing to do in a street fight is to avoid it or run away, and boxing/muay that plays to that tactic the best.

Vast majority of military combatives all over the world and throughout history favor grappling training and supplementing with striking.

They favor weapons and unfair fighting via numbers the most. They're not going to tell you to grapple someone down when there are multiple people like basically most team warfare is. Grapple training is for when shyt really goes bad and you got no choice.

However, the main thing they'll tell everyone to do is to strike, put distance between themselves and their attackers and get the fukk out of there back to their team as soon as possible to get a strength in numbers advantage. That is more suited to a striking and closer in mentality to how you win actual military combat than anything. Keeping the distance defensively as much as you can is prioritized more than anything.
