its because there are so many titles to choose I think
I VERY rarely finish game, mainly because I become a little bored with it and some other game come out, so I check it out and forget about the one before

Only games I haven't finished in recent memory are shytty ones.
Dragon Age II comes to mind...
But for the most part I tend to only buy/play cream of the crop games. And if I don't like them, I still manage to grind through them. Most games aren't Skyrim/Fallout, so with a few hours a night, you can beat the single player campaign in about a week or two... not really that hard. For Bethesda games, you'll really have to commit some time to fully beat them.
