You speak as if Ernie Grunfeld and Tommy Sheppard are still in control of basketball operations as they were from 2003-2023.
Or Wes Unseld and Michael Jordan before that.
The last successful GM the franchise had was Bob Ferry who was there from 1973-1990. The old owner, Abe Polin, never wanted to rebuild after the championship era in 1980 so he supported the treadmill approach of postseason appearances and Ls in the first or second round in the 1980s.
Michael Winger and Will Dawkins took over in June 2023. They have put the franchise in a full rebuild. They're both OKC alums. Winger was with the Clippers for several years under Lawrence Frank. This hasn't been the approach in decades. Ted Leonsis finally woke up and got modern basketball minds in the building.
Their success will be predicated on this upcoming draft and the 2026 draft.
And if any of these kids drafted since 2023 pop, we are in business for contention. And as mentioned before, we have cap flexibility, some increased draft capital too.

Look, most of you don't know what the fluduck you're talking about.
You clearly don't watch Wizards games do you can't speak on important things like the development of the young pups
Wizards currently start 4 rookies, all from the 1st round of this past draft. And they all look nice.
All of them 19 to 20yrs old. And they been developing really nicely.
Compare Sarr to Giannis at this point and Sarr is night and day better. He's legit, sorry sports center didn't tell you first
Bub got that inside outside game. I see a better Chancey Billups in his game
Keyshawn George is a dawg, can do a little bit of everything. Is an elite young scorer but sort of does everything like Joker
His ceiling is very high
Finally we grabbed AJ Johnson from the Kuzma trade. This nikka is like a Chris Paul type with the rock but can throw it down on a centers head in traffic. He goes to the rack like John Wall did but he's not as fast. Just like how our GM built OKC, he's doing the same thing here.
The Wizards will be a playoff team next year if they do one thing. Hire a coach. Maybe scoop up coach Malone?
The Wizards are purposely moving like they been moving. Soon they will show you what their own expectations are. Once Brian Kief is gone

Sarr shyts all over rookie Giannis, and once he puts on just a little tiny bit more weight? Better than Giannis
He's learning to go to the rack strong, and he might still be growing
He plays great for a rookie which I see you see, and if you watch them you know the wizards don't have much rhyme or reason in regards to rotations. They just want to see players develop so its about that more than giving meaningful minutes consistently. In in that shuffle of players this year Keyshwan has had the most janky of opportunities. mainly because Kuzma was taking minutes from him and he is developing faster than expected.
You didn't mention Bub, you gotta have peeped how he's a nice piece moving forward

He doesn't have the extended dribble packages in his game YET but that's the only thing from keeping from being "ready"
He's explosive, and he's only a kid. He has the tools, has more potential than anyone else we had at the position.
I love watching him play. I think the future is very bright. Playoffs is very possible. A coaching staff that is trying to win vs what we doing now should lead to dramatic results
