Wow, RIP to a legend like everyone else has said.
I'm not going to take a direct shot at anyone but I just wanted to make an observation.
Guys like ALI, Jim brown, kareem and bill Russell were cut from a different cloth. There was so much direct and overt racism back in the 50-70s that black athletes had to stick together and speak up on injustices and what they believed in even though it wasn't popular, it took courage to do that.
I'm saying that to say I wish a guy like Jordan stood up that way but he was and will always be a proud capitalist and dudes still line up, camp out, and go to four different malls filling out raffle tickets for his shoes every week. Jim brown and others called him out it his silence that plagued the black community but he didn't give a damn. Jordan can't stop bullets or crime but imagine a guy like him actually going into the streets of Chicago and talking to the youth. I think it would have a such a resounding effect.
The thing I always admired about ali is that it wasn't about the money, he used his fame and wealth of knowledge to his people. I wish more athletes used their influence for that and I hope some of today's biggest and brightest black stars study ali's life and continue on his path of using their fame to help spread knowledge and help the youth.
