Lowkey, a first and a second round pick is not really taking the Mavs to the cleaners that I had in mind.

To be honest though, this I think the Nets won this trade. Kyrie won't get Luka and the Mavs to that "serious contender" level.

To me it seems like Luka wants a big market if he's not a legit contender so I don't think he sticks around much longer (depending on what his contract is).

I'm failing to compute how Brooklyn won this trade. Even if/when Kyrie walks they only gave up role players and a 1st Round pick that is 6 years away.

Dallas still has a lot of shooting to surround around 2 of the best isolation players in the league. Dallas will be hard to defend that's for sure.

Dinwiddie is a solid starter averaging 18 on 45% and he built his name in a Nets uniform. DFS is an elite three and d guy. Mavs have one average wing defender left. This helps BK get bigger (added 6’5 Dinwiddie and 6’7 DFS) against Boston, Milwaukee, and Philly and sets the stage for follow on trades. Kyrie might play the rest of the season or sit out bc of injury or Chinese proliferation in the Gobi desert and will still walk without a four year deal
