In some states, the premium increases are striking. In Arizona, unsubsidized premiums for a 27-year-old buying a benchmark “second-lowest cost silver plan” will jump by 116 percent, from $196 to $422, according to the administration report. Oklahoma has the next biggest increase for a similarly situated customer, 69 percent.

It looks like states with a lower cost of living will have the highest increase.

Anyone with a brain knew this would happen. Liberals think with their emotions and don't use their brain. They have no concept of reality and how business work. They believe money will grow on trees.

We will repeal Obamacare, and will be start to win so damn much that you will get sick of winning!
Well conservatives think resources are unlimited so they are about even. :ld:

You're such a terrible person. Premiums were rising at a faster rate before ACA was instituted. Tearing it down and returning to what we had before won't fix this - it will exacerbate the problem. Moreover, we'll go back to no coverage for preexisting conditions and the loss of health care for the poorest among us. We could actually fix this if congress was willing to play ball. This is why I'm hoping Trump gets blown out and his awfulness poisons downticket Republicans, so we can take back the senate, and maybe the house too.

Medical care is expected to cost more
Being treated will cost more in 2017 than it does now. That’s true for everyone using the medical system — not just people with Obamacare plans. It will be true for people in government insurance programs like Medicare and Medicaid and for people who get their insurance through work. The cost of medical care basically goes up every year, so that’s not a huge surprise. But the last few years, that growth has been very slow by historical standards. Actuaries are predicting that 2017’s bump will be a little bigger. That increase is not because of Obamacare, but because of drugmakers releasing more new, expensive products; hospitals raising prices; and doctors offering more technologically complex treatments. Actuaries differ a bit in their estimates, and the cost of medical care varies by place, but the estimate I’ve heard in my reporting is somewhere around 6 percent.

Linking the New York Times..........you might as well link from Mother Jones.:mjlol:. States like Arizona have had SEVENTY-FIVE percent of people being subsidized. That is beyond terrible. I know you think money grows on trees and have zero clue about anything regarding economics, but to still be in denial that Obamacare is a disaster is mind-boggling.

People forget that rates are STILL going up at the slowest in 50 years. And, this isn't 22% across teh board. Different states are doing differetn things. don't forget a lot of Republican states have refused to participate which is driving up rates in tehir states. Rates are actually going DOWN in some states. Most of the high increases are in red states (look at last year):

If people understood how bullshyt their plans were before Obamacare made certain things standard, they'd be OK w the price increase.
(It's like people who were paying a grip for "unlimited" Sprint mobile data but had shytty coverage and speeds, then all of a sudden went to AT&T or Verizon)

Also, we might be the only country that accepts uninsured people at hospitals without upfront payment. Those costs gotta hit some other people's pockets. You ever get sick in a foreign country? You'll be crying to have niccaz back home wire you funds just to be seen by a doctor.
Unfortunately I know this all to well. I have family in Nigeria and when someone gets sick they're constantly hitting us up for money.:snoop:

Typical conservative. Attack the source instead of the argument.
