Nah y'all need to go back in time. Redoing the original is a good decision... Too much fukkery in Raiden's timeline also Snake is dead including his brothers.
This could be a win win for everyone if Konami just plays ball. The fans get new games, Sony is looked at as heroes for saving a bunch of beloved properties, Kojima gets his most famous IP Back, Konami gets a huge pay day and the Silent Hill series has a return to form.
