I do hate to break it to you but 93% of drugs that "show promise" never make it to the approval stage. A majority of drugs look great in the lab and do well in initial tests but end up not truly being effective or safe enough to really be a game changer. And thats after yeeaarrrs of clinical trials. Once they fail they gotta start from scratch all over again. Antivirals are some of the hardest drugs to perfect.
There are plenty of illnesses that doctors swore they had cornered. 100+ promising drug candidates and a half century later theyre still at square one.
Bottom line, yall need to find that "oh theyll figure something out soon enough" switch in your mind and turn that shyt off. Nothings guaranteed here.. So Its best to learn how to adapt and fast because theres a chance that nothings going to change for us for a very, very long time.
