They really should just execute the playoffs and hope for the best with no spectators. If it doesn’t happen soon the season will be cancelled and no champion crowned for this season which is wild.

No LA sports until mid May



Los Angeles County is extending its order to keep people at home for two more weeks to May 15 as the number of cases continues to increase and as the virus spreads in the community.

The county reported 18 new deaths from the pandemic to a total of 241, and the number of new cases rose 475 to 8,430, L.A. County Department of Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said in her daily briefing Friday. The order imposed more than three weeks ago led to the closure of non-essential businesses, cutting access to beaches and parks and other restrictions to keep residents at home.

The county extended the order after its model showed a surge in cases, estimating that 96% of all residents would be exposed to the virus by mid-summer if the restrictions were lifted.

Ridiculous health care costs is a separate issue that has been well known for decades. Should have made sure Bernie or some other progressive had been the candidate instead of Joe Biden.

Independent scientists are people who don't work for the government and who are not led by some agenda (financial or otherwise) other than finding out the truth about the facts of the corona outbreak. Stop relying for all of your information solely on media platforms owned by billionaires and look for credible sources and use your own ability to reason.

The flu is seasonal and every country has a baseline for how they deal with the flu.

Hospitals aren't being overwhelmed by the flu.

Italy had to fly in doctors from Russia & Cuba because they were OVERWHELMED by the virus

True it shouldn't. But that could take 18 months and no business can weather a year and half of inactivity. It was leaked Italy would look to have soccer played with no fans until Jan 2021, something like that would happen before not having a season. We don't even know how that would look either with no fans in the building, it wouldn't be the same product.

But I don't see how there's a way to save this season and anyone arguing for it to continue hasn't given solid reasoning on how to do it. It ain't just as simple as when they open everything up that the NBA is back, change formats etc all you want. These dudes have been shut down and restricted from leaving their homes just like us, so they're not in the shape you last saw them.

Which is why players officials would want a month to prepare. I think some of these people are just expecting for guys to have up-kept but that's literally impossible with the circumstances. So you'd be talking June if they got that, trying to go full speed back into a season without another "preseason" and dudes are tearing ACLs & achilles. We just had this season ruined by injuries.

Lastly, same ones wanting the season back will be shytting on the title winner a few years down the line calling it an asterisk championship anyway. What's the point?
