For y'all saying why would the Jets do this? The Jets ain't got no say in the matter. They've already submitted all power to Rodgers and have done everything he's asked.

So if Rodgers wants to play, he'll play, and there ain't shyt the Jets coaches or front office can say.

Honestly.. I'm all for it. If he comes back and plays well, cool. And we'll know we can build on it for next year. If he comes back, and gets hurt again.. lets be real here.. that's prolly the end of his chapter. And we can move on knowing that we'll need a new QB.

win/win if you ask me.

I feel like he’s doing this to keep the locker room from imploding and giving the guys something to play for

That, and as a way of pressuring the organization not to fire Hackett. He's gonna say I risked my health to commit to this organization, the least they can do is not fire the bum ass OC I hand picked.

It's also another front of the "experts are wrong" medical war he's been fighting for 3 years. Maybe there truly is an experimental procedure that heals your Achilles in a couple months instead of 5-6. But if there is, I'm gonna assume that shyt won't work on a 40 year old man. He's risking his career to prove he's the smartest man in the room. Good luck behind that o-line buddy.

He had the same newer surgery Cam Akers had and came back from within a yr, but Cam Akers is significantly younger. He also still looked bad when he came back.
