This is hilariously untrue.
But it’s par for the course that is Gil’s contrarianism.
Pat created that ethos; the Heat culture is basically who Pat is as a person. This is going all the way back to the 70s when Bill Sharman told Pat that the only way he was going to exist on that Lakers squad was to be the best conditioned player. He’s basically lived by that set of beliefs ever since.
All the infamous conditioning tests, body fat standards and the stringent training methods are all the psyche of Pat.
When he first arrived in Miami, he had had long fine-tuned his ability as a head coach, whilst Spo was only a video coordinator.
It's patently ridiculous for anyone to say otherwise, especially since Pat saved Spo from the wrath of Bron, where he could've easily been let go and would've been lucky to get another head coaching role elsewhere, and nobody would be speaking about Spo like they do now (to which he's become overrated).

1. Who's decision is it that Jimmy isn't starting? I'm thinking it's coming from Pat and that's not his lane. Let Spo make that call.
2. Jimmy needs to realize that throwing tantrums and acting up to get traded doesn't help. Harden tried this and hasn't seen $200 million sense. Had to settle for 2 years 70.
Pat Riley was even willing to let Wade walk in free agency. So that should tell JImmy everything. Too many players think a franchise owes them for what they did in the past. It's all about what can you do for me now

Spo is Riley’s bytch. And I don’t even mean that to be disrespectful to Spo. Its clear as day that Pat Riley is the top dog in Miami and that what HE says goes. Spo ain’t in no way, shape, form or fashion bucking against the hierarchy. Lebron, Wade and now Butler are basically telling Riley “F U C K you” on their way out of the door only Butler isn’t doing it “professionally” the way Bron and Wade did.
You might’ve forgot that Wade came back for two years to end his career, and LeBron fulfilled his duties under his contract to the very last day. Don’t compare them to Jimmy
