We literally just saw one of those picks end up becoming the 3rd pick in the draft and another become a lottery pick a few years ago with Orlando.
Tatum and Brown literally came from draft picks that weren't originally expected to be that good.

Injuries happen and teams struggle making some picks more valuable years down the road more than they seem at the time.

Not to mention, you need all the picks you can get with this new CBA and increase in contracts.
They’re trying to win a chip.Their core is entering their prime ..It’s time to make a decision The 25 pick ain’t gonna be lottery ,nor the 27. If the 29 and 31 are so what ? They made a move to win. OKC gets praised for stock piling picks and never wining shyt ….ever ..

The third pick you’re referring to this year is about to be Reed Sheppard or Clingan ….and Houston is trying to move that very same pick they lucked up and got

i don’t think ppl realize how good this makes New York
They’re gonna be really good next year. With the focus Thibs puts on the regular season it wouldn’t shock me if they won 60 games

Sure, they're better
