How would it be like Vietnam? Iran does not have the same or even a similar geographical layout.

Eh what I said pertains more to the type of enemy we would be going against...

iranians (Persians) are very similar to the Vietnamese in that they have a long history of fighting and not giving up no matter the cost. To successfully occupy and install a new regime in Iran we would have to fight for that country inch for inch, just like had to did in Vietnam. Citizens would be fighting against us...also yeah the geography is different but it would still be a motherfukker to navigate whereas we had to deal with jungles and shyt in Vietnam we would be dealing with mountains in Iran. We would actually run into the same problems we ran into in Afghanistan in Iran (limited communication due to mountain interference was a big problem in Afghanistan)

There have been attempts..I'm sure there are many factors to that question including hidden diplomacy and you aren't adding in the physcoligocal and monetary factors that 9/11 trickled into society.. the fact of the matter is America is vulnerable to all kind of infrastructure and homegrown destruction it would be EASY to commit large scale terror attacks in NY and the rest of the country..look at the so called "lone wolf" who shot 500 and killed 50+ people in vegas one person caused that.
