Not true infantry soldiers and generals swear by it. They consider it the greatest close air support plane of all time. Plus it is extremely survivable for pilots. The government has tried to put the plane in retirement many times due to its run cost. But the military stops that every time.

Let me put it to to you this way. The A-10 is such an efficient killer that congress will not let it be sold to foreign countries. They just blocked Boeing from selling it internationally in 2015. Only two other active planes in service can't be sold to foreign countries...the F-22 and B-2.
