I just said the basketball squad matters lo, they've done alot of progression

but if the football program gets buried, then I cant watch CFB anymore :manny:

Well, the flip to that is, the AU football program get it in when they can too.... Now going forward, all that has to cease for a good while... which means recruiting is about to dip...... just watch...

lol, NCAA is a clown org. Some billionaires would make so much money setting up proper minor leagues for the NBA and NFL that paid these kids 30-40k/yr until they were draft eligible. Not drafted? Then go to school, they'd actually take it seriously being there knowing it's their only shot at a "decent" living. But whatever...

thats stupid. $40k aint shyt to a 4/5 star recruit. the amount of publicity and attention you get from college is ridiculous.

Lol you are naive.
I'm not naive at all, but you are crazy if you think you'll ever catch Pitino, Calipari, Coach K, Boeheim, etc talking about arranging payments for players. Their track records speak for themselves. What is more likely are guys like the ones caught up in this case, looking to make a name at their agency or shoe company by landing big name players at their sponsored schools.

I know for a fact kids are getting paid, and it's not hard to figure out which ones, but big name coaches don't have to necessarily play that game.

I think this is more to do with basketball... We've been sending guys to the league in football. Basketball recruits needed a little more convincing that it was worth it...

Using middle men is not the same as "coaches not having anything to do with it."
Those coach probably never speak or see the people making these deals. Pitino would have never knowingly signed a kid who he explicitly knew got a $100k when he's directly under fire from the NCAA.

Knowing something might have happened doesn't mean you have something to do with it.

how about locking up real white collar criminals who have defrauded americans of millions/billions instead of locking up dudes paying high schoolers when the university is just gonna profit off of them despite whatever they bribe them with. so it's not like the state is losing out on anything. :francis:
