that's the sole purpose of doing this, it's a PAID route to the NFL. the system would be built on letting kids play 3-6 yrs max, after that they're booted from this system - like school.I don't think it would work. If all the 5 star talent goes to the minors, the minors just become the new college (level), with general public still saying "lets see what they do in the league against the best." Because of the connotation "minor", it will never take off in America. Perception is everything. It's the same reason that more basketball players don't go the overseas route. They could easily flourish as a superstar, make 6-figures tax free and are still being scouted on the NBA level.
Also, at some point, the novelty of being a star minor player wears off, so for a player to think they'll still have that weight to their name after Year 2, would be far fetched. Of course, I'm speaking for the majority; there will always be an anomaly. Maybe that's all it takes.
As for NCAA teams existing with an older base, casual sports fans don't want to see that. It may work with a 19-22 (missing 1 year) crowd but definitely not 23-26..and not for football players. They might as well be playing intramurals. It's not a bad idea, just implausible in any US sports climate.
the point isn't to be a star in the minors - it's to spend your 3 years before NFL eligibility in an elite paid system. yr 3 and not drafted? maybe stick around 1-2 more years in hopes of getting drafted, or get a scholly to a school to go play, go to school on your own, or go get a regular ass job - dream over.
these brehs have helmets on and look 30 at 19, no one cares if the rb is 19 or 23 just win games for the school. this is basically making the NCAA the second or last step and placing a viable PAID option ahead of it
