Champlain Towers South site of the collapse has been fully evacuated but the other two buildings (North and East as pictured below) which are identical and have identical problems with the infrastructure have not been ordered to evacuate. But if those residents are smart they would have packed up and left on their own accord by now unless they wanna live through a repeat of that South tower collapse.
They need to just take the L and move on. Total loss. Can't sell their unit and insurance probably won't cover it because the problems are likely due to the HOA Association's inability to keep up with proper maintenance for years.

Yep, I heard the same. If that was me as soon as I saw the other tower collapse, I would've left and never turned back.
Sometimes you just have to take the L and be grateful you're still alive to see another day.

I'm pretty sure something was going on that shouldn't have been. It's a beachside condo. Probably caught folks in the act. and now judgment day has come for them.

there are people still living in the standing part of the collapsed building.
I would only grab my electronics and id never step foot in that place again.
Although I don't think they are allowing people to actually stay there, I think everybody was evacuated and can't go back in

And this video was taken 3 minutes before the collapse. It zooms in around the 5 second mark and you can see water streaming straight down into the garage. The resident had felt the building shaking for a few minutes so she ran and shot this video from the outside shortly before the whole thing came down.

Why they have all these useless people putting in a word in plus the spanish translation.
Should be the mayor (Sometimes the gov) head of the emergency personnel or rescue people and a coordinator to announce whoever else want to get a word in. It's almost always up to an hour of filler from random bureaucrats

That fridge would be crushed by concrete weighing tons. On top of that if you did survive you die from lack of oxygen. The fridge that saved you becomes your coffinideally, you would want to hop into a refrigerator.
it will be a hard shell to protect you but there is also food and drank in there.
it will keep you cool in the florida heat and if you crack the door open just a bit you can turn the light on.
