People will eventually stop caring, until the next time a catastrophic failure happens.
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid

I don't know how locals who living out there would just stop caring. I'm not even from out there, and I'm already like, "Yeah, I'm not getting no AirBnB or trying to staying at a hotel on Miami Beach like that". Last time I was out there, the hotel I stayed at looked just like that building

Anything near the water like that is going to have a porous foundation

This is the end game of Capitalism; collapse. When people (idiots) accept with a straight face that the only responsibility of a corporation is to provide profit for shareholders this is the result. Americans don't even believe a corporation's purpose is to provide a good or service to the public, but to just exist as a massive wealth scheme with little to no governance or oversight. May as well make Ponzi schemes legal. The reason I don't politicize a lot of this bullshyt is because the pro-corporation mindset is ingrained into the psyche of Americans across all political spectrums; it just manifests differently. America is getting exactly what it asked for. And there is more to come. And you will witness it first hand. No one is safe and no one will escape. And we deserve it. Actually, far worse.

Excellent post. Things are starting to come to a head and we're finally beginning to see the conseqences of decades of unbridled capitalism. It will come in the form of crumbling infrastructure, droughts, uncontrollable wildfires, more pandemics, servere weather events etc. And it will be on a global scale.

No where is the belief of unbridled capitalism more pronounced than in America. Many people will not be able to make sense of the events that will take place throughout the course of this decade and beyond. The right will continue scapegoating and devolve into more conspiracy theories. The liberals will continue offering short term solutions while desperately fighting to maintain some semblance of normalcy.

What will emerge when its all said and done is anyones guess. I'd wager we'll either devolve into neo-fuedalism or adopt some type of system that has some aspects of socialism.

Which is frightening because as someone who lives in a landlocked part of the country, when I think about vacationing somewhere like a Miami, I always think of staying at a highrise overlooking the beach.

The media is going to keep the dead count in the single digits for the next two weeks. Can't fukk with those tourism dollars.

Bingo. The more this story gets talked about, the harder the hit to Miami's tourism will be.

I just sent my guy who's been down to MIA like 2 or 3 times in the last 2 months this story cause surprisingly, I don't think many people are aware of this.

Out of all of these new, luxury apartments and condos that have been, and is being built in major cities throughout the country, one may wonder just how many of these are rush jobs, or if constructive short cuts were made.

We might see more of this shyt with older and newer buildings alike

Saddest shyt is seeing the light flip on, someone just concerned and seeing what’s up, and just wiped out in an instant
Those weren’t lights coming from the apartments - those were electrical circuits and electrical wires popping as the building was being disintegrated. The floors started buckling from the inside first, then the outside of the building started to crumble. And afterwards you can see the fire and smoke.

The power went out before the building went down which is why the entire building was dark. That’s probably the only sign that those residents knew something was wrong. The scariest part to me is the apartments in the building on the left side had no warning but the right side of the building had a few seconds to process that was going on, enough time for the fight and flight reaction to probably make it to their bedroom door and it was over. Smh.
