Can someone fill me in: why was it such a nail-biter? Wasn't Lula leading comfortably in polls for a long time before polls tightened? What caused him to go down in the polls?

I was watching a documentary about Allende, Chile’s Marxist president in the early 70s. He was re-elected. When the bombs started dropping on the national building and the tanks started rolling in the streets, shyt changed quick…
I put nothing past Bolsonaro he reminds me of Pinochet.

Allende couldn't make it past his third year as president and one of the main forces behind the coup was the U.S. That situation has very little to do with Bolso's fascist ass thinking about doing something stupid in 2022.
