Yes sirrrrr. Brandy bought to catch the quick W real quick, easy. It's easier to like Monica more because she seems more relatable and down to earth and "real"...but Brandy's catalog is deeper and better, I would hope that's all that matters.

And I can't believe Monica duffed Brandy like that and that was it...I'm sure if it really happened like that and it wasn't the head up that the young lion, young champion, icon Ray-J would have violated shorty on that Piru shyt.

Pretty even numbers... I thought Brandy would have the bigger numbers

their numbers were always about even.

brandy was just pushed harder, more poppy and a better actor.

meanwhile, monica laid in the cut and did about the same numbers without chasing the crossover.

Legendary Sh!t. They BOTH have a strong 20. Can't wait. So wild how their careers are forever tied together. "Boy is Mine" was huge and it remains their only Grammy Win. I was thinking about this combo, wasn't sure if it could happen. Then Brandy released an album. Brandy was bigger overall, no doubt but Monica has plenty of hits and was younger than Brandy too when she blew up.

Brandy chased the AC audience, which was huge. This was the Toni Braxton/Whitney Houston lane. Never Say Never was the album where the conscious decision to go after that audience was made.

Monica didn't chase that audience, but still made songs that were palatable like "Angel Of Mine" and "For You I Will".

brandy was a bigger overall entertainer when you factor in the acting and all that. she was more crossover. white folks and people who dont know r&b like that, didnt really know monica, even tho she still moved around the same units and was nominated at the same shows & such. brandy had a bigger profile and more reach, while monica was more of the fan favorite.
