Brandy used to look up to Aaliyah and was a huge fan. U gotta understand ur hot takes ain’t consensus. Either way u right about her not fukkin wit prime Brandy who was FAR bigger. But either way Aaliyah DEF had her place.@ age-checking somebody over aaliyah.
im old enough to remember when shanice was the r&b princess. long before aaliyah, brandy, monica, etc were even around.
the argument was always brandy versus monica. nobody ever interjected aaliyah into the conversation.
aaliyah didnt have the albums like monica & brandy, and she was nowhere near their level in terms of talent.
aaliyah could go toe-to-toe with them on the singles tho, but that was moreso a product of having prime timbo & missy, and the goat r.kelly at his absolute peak.
aaliyah wasnt a good singer, nor did she do any writing or producing to make up for it. she also wasnt a good performer, and from what i hear, she wasnt a good actor either.
