Brandon Jennings on Kobe tonight: "Probably the best defense anybody's played on me since I've been in the league."

KEVIN DING ‏@KevinDing

More Jennings on @kobebryant: "For the whole game, I don't think I've ever seen a guard put that much pressure on a point guard full-court."

The haters will be quiet in this thread, especially since they have been blaming everything on him recently.

It's never a question of if he can do it, just whether he's willing to put in the effort or not.

I'm glad D'Antoni called him out and said Kobe needs to lead the way defensively. They have plenty of guys who can carry the offensive burden. He doesn't need to conserve energy on the defensive end with this team.

Brandon Jennings was held to 12 points on 4-of-14 shooting by Bryant, and Milwaukee's young star emerged from Staples Center with newfound respect for the fifth-leading scorer in NBA history.

''I don't think I've ever seen anybody put that much pressure on a point guard full court for a whole game,'' Jennings said. ''It was probably the best defense somebody's ever played on me since I've been in the league - just constantly putting pressure on me, touching me, hitting me at all times in the game. He wouldn't let me just catch the ball easy, and I wasn't able to get the ball a lot, so it was pretty difficult.''

''Kobe changed the complexion of the game with his pressure in the backcourt,'' Boylan said.

Jennings was the Eastern Conference's player of the week for averaging 24.5 points in the last four games under Boylan's leadership, but Bryant held him to two points in the first half. Jennings got going with a four-point play early in the third quarter, but never managed consistent production against Bryant

THIS is why Kobe's always 1st Team All-Defense....because when he actually focuses in, he will lock you down and the people that actually PLAY and COACH NBA basketball know this.

Haters can say all they want, but we are only fans of the game. There's a reason why Kobe is praised for his defensive abilities by Coaches and NBA players.

So, it's exactly like Bilz says. Kobe plays defense 3-4 games a season and that justifies all-nba selections, ignoring the rest of the time when he's getting lit up like a jew in Auschwitz.

Who cares what Bilz says.....NBA COACHES/PLAYERS say he's the best defender at SG (you do know only the coaches vote for NBA All-Defensive Teams right:usure: ), who is he to say different?

Kobe's man to man defense has always been great when he's applying pressure and focused in as he has been 2 games in a row, and he's shut down Kyrie Irving and Brandon Jennings in back to back games as a 17 year vet.

I guess Rasheed Wallace should have been First Team all NBA from 1999-2006.

I mean, just based on his potential to be the best big man in the league?

Any more stupid arguments to make? Just make a quick list, you haven't been worth more than a few responses since ***** shut down sohh.

stupid muhfukkas think defense is measured by steals and blocks...

in his prime Kobe was the #1 perimeter defender in the NBA, while being the #1 perimeter scorer. No player in the history of basketball has done that.

Forget the Defensive player of the year award Jordan won(the NBA has been very generous with anointing MJ with awards), Pippen was always the better defender and helped preserve MJ on the offensive end.
