the way servers work isnt really magic, theres limited capacity that is bound to result in a site fukk up under high demand. if there are points of pure fukkery in the game, they will get fukked

the thing is, in terms of money, its not worth it to have a lot of servers only for high capacity events, because youre losing mad money on all other times, which is the lions share of the calendar year. theres little point to pay for servers to be under capacity most of the time. so its a given they will get fukked during high demand events such as superbowl or NBA finals. they will fail, the question is when.

same reason video games at launch have like 10x the normal capacity, and then companies remove them after hype dies down- so they dont have to pay a lot more for not utilizing resources
