I’m not going to proclaim Maye as a superstar QB yet, but he’s been excellent so far.

It is obvious when comparing him to Mac Jones.

Get him some weapons and an OL and things look promising.

Another very good performance from Drake Maye. Too many drops from the WR's, but I loved what I saw from Demario Douglas. Never want to see them lose a game, but not going to be mad about this one as I'll be happy with a higher draft pick this year.

Gonzo is a beast as well.

Team still makes a lot of poor and untimely penalties, but I thought Maye looked very good. Missed a few throws to about the or a miscommunication, but I’ve absolutely loved what I’ve seen from him so far. He definitely has some similarities to Josh Allen.

Alright, at worst the Patriots will end up with the #9 overall pick. I'd say they have a 90% chance of a top five pick, a 50% chance of a top three pick, and a 20% chance of a top two pick.

Let's say they end up with the #2 overall pick, do you trade it or take someone there? Right now there's not a lot of hype on QB's and the only two I ever really hear mentioned are Sanders and Ward. Is it worth trading down from #2 overall, or do you draft an OT or Travis Hunter?

I use this just to fool around and see different scenarios.

This week is very likely the difference between the #2 overall pick or the #7 overall pick. Those are the spots I have the Patriots end up landing the most.

A loss this week and next week, and the second overall pick will be secured. If the Eagles rest their starters in week 18 and the Giants can pull out a win, the Patriots will have the #1 overall pick if they lose their remaining two games.

I think they will keep Mayo, that would be terrible press, and Kraft is very image conscious. Plus, they will get the number 1 pick. And if they trade down, a king's ransom. They already know they have a franchise QB.

If Mayo fails next year, no one will complain that you fired him. But you gotta give him one more year, in my opinion.

Congrats to Mayo and Wolf for securing the #1 pick in the NFL draft :lolbron:

He will most likely keep Mayo strictly because Kraft said that it was his 'instincts' that led him to hire Mayo and said it was his instincts have led him to be as successful as he is. Admitting he was wrong would be a blow to his ego. This dude has been trying to get into the HOF. There's no way he would admit he was wrong after 1 year with his handpicked guy.

That said, Mayo needs to do a lot of self-reflecting. The Pats were terrible. A lot of pre-snap penalties, post snap penalties, lack of adjustments, and lack of development from the players. Keion White looked like a monster first 2 games, and then teams adjusted and neutralized him all year. Defense looked like a sieve against the run game, and they couldn't manufacture pressure at all from any of the blitz packages. Juxtapose their scheme vs Flores with the Vikings/Vance with the Broncos and you can tell which unit is well coached with a good scheme and which one is not. Lastly, he's gotta stop throwing people under the bus. He's walked back comments so many times this year. I know Kraft wants someone opposite of Belichick but there's something about keeping some things in-house and not blurting it out to the Boston media who are about as toxic as any local media out there.

He either needs to get rid of his coordinators and hire people who have experience or hire assistant coaches who have experience to help him and his coordinators. The Pats played each game all year like it was their first game in the NFL :beli:
