Yeah I remember when the rumors were gonna be a sequel set in Hawaii which sounded interesting

But this seems to be more like going the Star Wars route of just loading the film up with nostalgic references so the man children in the audience can clap like seals.

Twin Peaks The Return is the perfect example of a long time sequel/revival that did something new and fresh with the material. I wish more films and shows took that approach
