You spend money at the three store chains(FA, FTL, champs) & put your “reward points” in for a release and lose them all in a gamble that you are selected. That’s a horrible business model.
Those UNC IV’s are a GR but everyone is a reseller and those are going for $400+ everywhere. Nike/JB can’t sustain this..
Hype will always be there but I do not see why they can’t let people take preorders on shoes. It’s a simple fix.
They won’t because they have hundreds of millions invested into GOAT/STOCK X.. That’s part of the hustle...

I hate how certain stores make you purchase items just to get an entry ticket to buy a hyped sneaker 
The items you buy, the better chance you have of winning. In that case, you'd be better off just paying resell
