I perfectly captured the essence of the times back then..Menace was horrible because of the extremely low cam corder budget they were working with.

I have no idea when it became cool to hate on Boyz N The Hood, but I still love it. Lawrence Fishburne and Ice Cube’s characters really make the movie. Always makes my heart feel a little heavy at the end when Doughboy fades away and the caption tells you he got murdered. :mjcry:

It’s kinda preachy, I’ll admit that, but shyt… a little sincerity never hurt anyone.
My problem is the preachiness. Like when Lawrence Fishburne gives them that speech at that sign.

This brother talks to his son and his friend and then an entire neighborhood shows up. Comes off like a Saturday afternoon special and is extremely cringe for me even if the message is good.



Love the movie but that scene just lowers it.
