Abdul Rauf was suspended in 1996.
He played his last NBA game 5 years later in 2001.
He wasn't systematically black balled from the entire league. Although I feel he was treated unfairly by a majority of the owners and then commissioner Stern. If I had the same level of consciousness as a 14 year old that I do in my 30s I would have boycotted the Stern NBA as well.
But this is 2017..
If y'all feel so strongly about Rauf being suspended 20 years ago then I suggest you create your NBA boycott..
But you don't really care.. This is just your version of "What about Black on Black crime?" to deflect and make yourself feel good about your apathy..

ive always thought football was a shyt sport....

What this is really about for me is the way cac America rallied around their interest. And I believe every offensive move should be met with an offensive move.
We can't cry about white supremacy and then support it. Of course there are things we can't help but support right now like working on their jobs or going to their institutions, but this is something doable.
It will hurt because I've been watching football since I was 10 and I'm 40. But we can find other things to do that are more productive.
Taking it further, I would like to see our kids pulled from ALL sports! We have more important things to aspire too in our quest for power and respect.
Imagine how shaken this country will be if all black kids were pulled from all sports? Unless there are some black owners and other changes.
The boycott should include getting off the nuts of these players too, until they decide to stand for something.
