That's not what I got from the video, all he said was the idea that the gap will close in 200 years is flawed cause it's based on a lot of assumptions, then he said white people shouldn't be anyone's standard in the first place cause they're not as financially literate as they're made out to be; at no point he said you should content with what you have he said do the best with what you got and as African Americans you're better off than a lot of people in other countries. In fact he even called out people who keep mentioning the gap as an excuse not to make moves.
If you spend time around middle-class whites you would know this. They shyt ain't together as it seems.

Boyce>>>> tone and yevette

I don’t really see how people follow they defeated bullshyt.
The government ain’t gone save us.

I see why Boyce wants us to believe we not broke.

:dead:

He's got about $1,000.00+ worth of inventory he needs you to buy.

What’s wrong with supporting black business?

Especially when it’s financial knowledge from a PHD educated in finance ?

There's nothing wrong with that.

But, don't make your platform "black people waste money on NIKE shirts" and sell shirts at the same exact price.

I don't mind at all, just pointing out the conflict of interest.

And Boyce is also a PHD in finance who thinks the data about how much money black people have in this country is inaccurate and he has no fact to prove that the data is wrong. So, a degree don't save him from being wrong.

Of course, there are black rich people.
  • But, black people as a whole only have 2% of the wealth in this country
  • 40 million of us, 14 million families
  • There are only about 380,000 black people looking at $1 million and up
  • Most of them are baby boomers (51-71 years old)
  • Young black millionaires are rare
  • We don't own land or manufacturing infastructure
  • Our unemployment is outta control
^^^ These FACTS show "Black Business" does not exist at a level to save us

Especially since 90% of black businesses are just self employed people

Meaning 10% of black business have atleast 2 employees

And it's getting worst

People call it foolish to demand reparations, but, slavery is how we got here

Boo fukking hoo. Go kill yourself then since's there hope. Please take Antonio with you.

I agree we focus too much on the wealth gap instead of what we can do to maximize what we have.

Talking about a wealth gap helps nothing. Talking about utilizing our resources, building businesses and industries, developing our own economy, at least is an effort to improve our situation.

And the conclusion is; black people don't have enough.

I get it; we are all raised to put our head down and work hard.

But, this convo shouldn't be shut down because it doesn't conform to that notion. 90% of black businesses are just self employed people. We don't own enough land to manufacture anything to sustain ourselves independently.

I legitimately don't understand the concept of focusing too much on information that is integral to developing the things in the bold. This is a capitalist country.

You are always competing with others. And it if a little bit of people have a lot (We only account for 2% of the wealth in this country), that means a lot of taken from the majority of people.

I'm not some broke nikka upset my life didn't turn up right. My father is damn near a 1% amongst black people.

My issue is; that's not enough for my siblings and me to be okay and the majority of black Americans to starve.

Please don't take this personally.

IMO, focusing on what you don't have discourages building and developing what you do have.

So we don't have what whites in America have. But many of us do have enough to start our own restaurants, clothing lines, grocery stores, jewelers, sports franchises, social media sites, etc.

If we continue to compare ourselves to whites on some "woe is me" tip, things are only gonna get worse. It's a pipe dream to believe that they would willingly relinquish any of their wealth. But if we focus on what we do have we can build our own and come closer to maximizing what we can out of this situation.

This is not "woe is me." This is not "what white folks have."

I'm exhausted with people treating me like I'm making stuff up without checking my sources.

Bro, this is not true. It's just not.

Again, you have to understand capitalism and that black people do not live in a bubble away from white people.

Where are people getting money and education to start businesses? Government.

What's gonna stop Amazon from just selling at that at a cheaper price and with higher efficiency? Government.

Black people have the right to DEMAND of our government. If ya'll knew our history you'd know the reason a black middle class existed is because of the government being forced by our elders to enact on the behalf of black people.

You can start a business, but, businesses don't sustain generations of people. You think you can run retail better than Wal-Mart and Target? Amazon is kicking both of their asses.

This is just the tip of the iceburg. I feel like the muhfukka trying the warn everyone about the flood. Everybody is tellin' me, "Well, we dry now."

Where do ya'll get all this information that we are okay?

No, don't sit around in beg. But, you don't field an offense with just two lineman. I'm just talking about filling the rosters out. I don't wanna hear "just worry about the lineman we have on the field."

This post is bullshyt.

I personally know other communities that trade dollars from within and that shyt WORKS!

Look I get all the reasons why we are where we are. I know we haven’t had a fair shake in this country, but at some point we gotta stop with the defeatist rhetoric and change our methods and way of thinking.

That’s how you BUILD wealth which is what Boyce is talking about.

If dollars rarely ever left the black community and circulated it would change the trajectory of the black economic outlook.

Who gives a fukk about Wal-mart right now!? Your doing exactly what Boyce talks about looking at big white corps as the only standard :snoop:

You think immigrants give a fukk about Wal-Mart when they are starting a corner store, or opening a subway sandwich franchise, or gas station, or purchasing a duplex in their community to rent out to young families or students to help them out?
Or starting a small construction business that’s supported by their people? Etc etc...

All these businesses GROW and help make thriving communities, along with a more strenuous focus on education.

But I’m pretty sure you’ll give me reasons why we as black folks can’t do it cause “the government yada, yada”

Our mind state is defeated more than anything.
