A lot of people are going to role with Thurman, because he is the more aesthetically pleasing guy to watch in there that night. I can't really blame them.

However, Shawn Porter is herky jerky, awkward, in shape, & displays professionalism at all times. He is a winner. Also, Porter has fought better competition. I really believe he is prepared for this kind of fight.

For me, it's a 50-50 toss up. I will make a prediction on Saturday.

I have learned to appreciate guys that look like shyt in the ring, but just get it done. I use to pick against Carl Froch every time. Some guys are just winners.

hella international
Porter was intriguing when he got the W over Devon and in the absolute demolition of Malignaggi, but he's really failed to impress me since then. Doesn't help that both Alexander and Paulie have nearly completely fallen off too..

He's a tough fight but I just don't see Porter being able to do anything impressively against Thurman. Porter can't box well enough to steal rounds early on when Thurman is still fresh, and I'm not entirely convinced that Porter will be able to maintain his high intensity, come forward style once he starts feeling Thurman's power. On that note, I'm not at all convinced that Porters power or strength is that impressive at 147, something that I feel will always be his greatest shortcoming as a boxer.

Typing all that up has me thinking about a potential Khan-Porter matchup. :jbhmm:

I might have to take Khan in that...

Anyways,

Of course the greatest fear I have going into this fight is that Keith may suffer from ring rust. Also, who knows how severe of an impact the car accident had on Thurman's body going forward, and whether or not those effects lingered in his training camp.

Both these fighters NEED a win in Saturday, so I'm hoping for a memorable night of boxing. I also feel that PBC NEEDS this fight to succeed -- and for the sake of the sport, I hope this shyt doesn't turn out to be a dud. I'm pulling for Thurman, but regardless of who wins, I will be praying that this fight brings some excitement back to the sport of boxing.

I honestly cannot believe this fight is actually happening and there is still a part of me that is expecting to hear news tomorrow that Porter twisted his ankle and Keith has the flu and the fight will be postponed yet again.:lupe:
:russ: word...Al better make sure Keith is under surveillance until he's actually in the ring
